The weeklong programme began with a request for slogans and video compilations, as well
as a daily infographics sharing event to increase awareness through social media.
In total, 27 slogans based on the theme of World Rabies Day 2023 were received and uploaded on the IVSA Paklihawa page.
The finest slogans from the contestants were ranked first, second, and third. Sandeep Dhakal came in first, Rajib Dhakal came in second, and Kaushal
Kishor Ram came in third
, and they all received cash awards. The slogans were judged based on 70% expert opinion and 30% social media interaction.
The slogans and film were quite educational.

Day 2: Public awareness rally from Lumbini Gate to Hotel Pauwa (September 23, 2023)
On the second day of the programme, as planned, we conducted a public awareness rally from Lumbini Gate to Hotel Pauwa.
There was considerable engagement from organising teams of enthusiastic members from IVSA Paklihawa and many rotract groups.
The gathering began at 7:30 a.m. and marched forward slowly, with the roar against the deadly rabies virus.

Day 3 & Day 4 : School and community awareness program at Rohini and Siyari Rural Municipality (September 24 &25, 2023)

This year, IVSA Paklihawa expanded modestly and reached out to rural communities to increase rabies awareness. The awareness-raising effort concentrated on the rural municipalities of Rohini and Siyari on days 3 and 4, respectively. Different schools and Ama Shamuha were our main concerns, and their cooperation, as well as the volunteers from the planning committee, made this programme a huge success. Students in the second grade were educated on rabies transmission, prevention, and their part in building a rabies-free society. The most exciting and pleasurable aspect was teaching the Ama shamus of Siyari rural communities at night until 10:00 p.m. Despite a language barrier and minor problems, we were able to complete our mission and are grateful for the opportunity to help those communities.

Day 5 & Day 6: Anti-rabies vaccination and reflective collar installation program (September 26 &27, 2023)

As part of our programme, we administered mass rabies vaccinations in two locations: Rohini and Siyari Rural Municipalities. However, the collar installation on street dogs was cancelled owing to unavoidable circumstances. The primary goal of this programme was to eliminate rabies in street dogs and promote one health approach. The campaign lasted for two days and resulted in the vaccination of 93 dogs with ARV. Vaccinating street dogs was a challenge for us. The volunteers worked tirelessly to make this programme a success.
We also made this programme beneficial to all volunteer students. They were taught how to
take vital indicators such as respiration rate, heart rate, and so on, and they also had the
opportunity to draw blood.

Day 7: One Health Awareness and public awareness rally (September 28, 2023)

We concluded the week-long programme with a one health awareness rally in Butwal in
collaboration with NVA Lumbini Province and other local organisations as well as government
bodies involved in livestock development. The rally began at 8:00 a.m. from Milan Chowk and
ended at the Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City Office. Members of concerned authorities actively
participated in the rally, which marched ahead with a single roar against rabies.

To summarise the rally, there was a corner meeting where more rabies material was reviewed and one article was provided by the secretary of the NVA Lumbini province.
