ONLINE VIDEO COMPETITION ENTITLED "TEACH FROM HOME", ON THE OCCASSION OF "WORLD ANTIMICROBIAL AWARNESS WEEK-2020"

To celebrate World Antimicrobials Awareness Week (WAAW) 2020 on the theme ‘United to preserve
Antimicrobials'; International Veterinary Students’Association (IVSA) Paklihawa and Alliance against
AMR
organized a week-long online video competition entitled “Teach From Home”.

"Teach from Home" is an online campaign to raise awareness among local people including one's family
members and community people about the proper use and misuse of antimicrobials and the myths
found popularly in society. The video competition encouraged people to spread awareness about
antimicrobials and make people know about the present condition and future consequences of using
antimicrobials in the wrong way. All the participants created their content centered around the theme of
World Antimicrobial Awareness Week following the criteria pinpointed by the organizing committee.
The criteria are as follows:
• maximum of 5 minutes in length
• any language is preferable but make sure to have subtitles if languages other than Nepali and English
are used
• involvement of family members is highly encouraged
• local people are the target audiences, so make sure to choose comprehensible words and dialogues
• any video found offensive on religious, social, educational and various grounds shall be disqualified

The Judgment Criteria are mentioned below:
• Social media engagement ( 50 points) which comprises 5 points for each 'Like'15 points for each
'Comment' and 30 points for each 'Share'.
• 50 points shall be decided by the committee which will strictly look upon Relevancy, Originality,
Presentation and Clarity of content or message.

The deadline for registration for the video competition was 10th November 2020, and a total of seven
participants entered the competition with meaningful content full of awareness. The participants were
provided with a Video-Making Workshop on 11th November 2020 and the top three winners were
announced to be awarded Cash prize and Certificates.

Based on the aforementioned criteria, the top three videos were selected and the winners are:
1.Mr. Dipak Acharya(Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science)
2.Ms.Rachana Dangol(Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science)
3.Ms.Lochan Shrestha(Nepal Medical College)

The videos are posted on the Facebook pages of IVSA Paklihawa and Alliance against AMR with the
engagement of more than 20,000 people on social media.
