THREE DAYS CATTLE AND BUFFALO FARMING TRAINING

Continuing promotion of awareness among the local people and continuity to the animal welfare, Standing Committee on Animal Welfare (SCAW), International Veterinary Students' Association(IVSA)Paklihawa in collaboration with Tamel VDC Ward no. 7,Chapakhori, Kavre, conducted “3 Days Cattle and Buffalo Farming Training”. The training was performed by Mr. Ram Shankar (SCAW Ambassador, IVSA Paklihawa) and other trainers from Tamel VDC with the participants of 27 participants from the local areas divided into four groups.

The training started from 29th June, 2021 and was continued till 1st July, 2021. The general goal of this program was to enhance the economic status of the locals of the Temal rural municipality by establishing proper cattle and buffalo farming approaches, techniques and veterinary system, to help enable the locals to take the most advantage from goat farming.

In the training, the participants were taught about the breeds of cattle and buffaloes found in Nepal, the grasses for consumption, and other feed materials, diseases and its management, prevention and vaccination along with different types of farming systems, biosecurity methods and off-seasonal vegetable production. Each day the session lasted for about two hours i.e., from 11 A.M. to 4 PM with one hour break. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the training and look forward for such events in future too.
