GOAT FARMING TRAINING ORGANIZED BY SCAW, IVSA PAKLIHAWA IN COLLABORATION WITH Social Development Centre (SESDEC, Banepa-Kavre)

 Considering promotion of awareness among the local people and continuity to the animal welfare, Standing Committeeon Animal Welfare (SCAW), International Veterinary Students' Association(IVSA)Paklihawa in collaboration with Sustainable Enterprises and Social Development Centre (SESDEC, Banepa, Kavre) conducted “3 DaysGoat  FarmingTraining” around Temal rural municipality, Kavrepalanchok. The training was performed by Mr. Bishoram Shrestha (Senior trainer of SESDEC) from the SESDEC and Mr. Ram Shankar (SCAW Ambassador, IVSA Paklihawa) with the participants of 13 women from the local areas.

The training started from 22nd June, 2021 and was continued till 24th June, 2021. The general goal of this program was to enhance the economic status of the locals of the Temal rural municipality by establishing proper goat farming approaches, techniques and veterinary system, to help enable the locals to take the most advantage from goat farming.

On the first day, the participants were taught about the breeds of goats and design of goat farms in hilly region. On the second day, the training was about the grasses for consumption by goat, silage making, Urea Molasses Mineral Blocks (UMMB) and other goat feed materials. On the third day, the training was about the diseases of goat, its management, prevention and vaccination. Each day the session lasted for about two hours i.e., from 12 PM to 2 PM. participants enjoyed the training thoroughly and learnt a lot of new things.
