International Conference on One Health (ICOH) – 2020

The International Conference on One Health – 2020 was organized by the multi-sectoral collaboration with our international team namely, International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA) Rampur, FV&AS, IUB, IVSA Pakistan, Bahawalpur, IVSA Portugal, Medicine Veterinary Federation Academic (FAMV), International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA), Pakistan and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology (EMB) UCET IUB on the occasion of One Health Day – 2020, dated 3rd November. This conference was continued as two days session of webinars from eight key-speakers of different fields of professions, on 3rd and 4th November. The conference celebrates and brings attention to the need for One Health approach to address shared health threats at the human-animal-environment interface.

Both days started exactly at 2 pm GMT (7:45 pm NST) and participants entered 5 minutes earlier. Each day we came up with four presentations. After 10 minutes of welcome speech, the presentation session was begun. We provided 40 minutes of total time to each presenter including their introduction from the host of the respective MO as well as the Q&A period. In this way, we had around 3-hour session each day for this conference. We had registered 369 respondents from the Google form from 35 different nations. We were really overwhelmed by such a huge number of participants. We had our panelist in the following order:

On 3rd November

The first day was moderated by Mr. Muhammad Ammun Bashir from IVSA Pakistan, Bahawalpur, and had given the first 10-minute welcome speech, a brief introduction of the conference, and some ground rules on any virtual platform session. From IVSA Rampur's side, Mr. Binay Thapa being the host for our 3rd speaker for that day, Mrs. Sramika Rijal, moderated well for the entire forty minutes and had done interactive Q&A period within the time limitation. Finally, at 4:50 GMT, Mr. Bashir ended Day 1st with concluding remarks and information for the next day's session.

On 4th November

The second day was moderated by Mr. Ali Anwar from IVSA Pakistan, Bahawalpur and had given the first 5 minutes of welcome speech. Naveera Fayyaz from IFMSA-Pakistan had given brief introduction of the conference and some rules for the virtual session. From IVSA Rampur side, again Mr. Binay Thapa being the host for our 2nd speaker for that day, Dr. Rebanta Kumar Bhattarai, moderated the entire forty minutes but unfortunately could not have done Q&A period due to time limitation. At last, we had a great opportunity to have interactive talk with IVSA MOD, Nabeelah Rajah from South-Africa. She had given us a huge congratulations and best wishes for the future performance and collaboration.

In this way, we had successfully conducted and accomplished the 2 days International Conference on One Health – 2020. We would like to congratulate the entire five different MOs for this joint collaboration. On the behalf of IVSA Rampur, we would like to acknowledge our guest speakers Mrs. Sramika Rijal and Dr. Rebanta Kumar Bhattarai for their precious time and never-ending knowledge and blessings for us. We had designed a great piece of certificate on 3 different categories: Certificate of Honour for speakers, Appreciation for moderators and Participation for our participants. These certificates were designed by our Secretary, Mr. Somnath Aryal. From this conference, we had learned about the collaboration process, interaction with international students, guests and delegates, our own potentials and effort as take home messege, and maintained a great international relationship for future and mutual benefits.
