REPORT ON SOLIDARITY WEEK

Standing Committee on Wellness (SCOW) of International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA), Paklihawa a local chapter of IVSA Nepal, released posters on various themes from 25th April to 30th April on the occasion of 'Solidarity Week' to bring awareness and education about the increasing suicide rates and mental illnesses in the veterinary profession. It was an effort to resolve and make the entire veterinary profession aware of mental health issues.

Day 1 Theme: -

Awareness and education opportunities about the ever-increasing suicide rates and mental illness in the Veterinary profession.

"You cannot take responsibility for someone else’s life — the decision is ultimately their own. You may, however, be able to help them find hope and see other ways of dealing with their problems and pain, and help them seek the support they need."

Day 2 Theme: -

Pledge to make an effort to take care of our mental health.

"Give yourself another day, another chance. You will find your courage eventually. Don’t give up on yourself just yet."

Day 3 Theme:

-Promote Platforms that encourage discussion about mental health.

"There is hope, even if your brain tells you there isn't"

 Day 4 Themes:

"Honor those in the veterinary field who we have lost to mental health-related issues."

"Pledge to make an effort to take care of our mental health."
