World Spay Day 2016

The Humane Society of United States says, ” Getting your pet spayed or neutered can: Reduce the number of homeless pets killed,Improve your pet’s health, Reduce unruly behavior , Save on the cost of pet care.World Spay Day is an annual campaign of The HSUS, Humane Society International and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. On the last Tuesday of every February, World Spay Day shines a spotlight on the power of affordable, accessible spay/neuter to save the lives of companion animals, community (feral and stray) cats, and street dogs who might otherwise be put down in shelters or killed on the street.

IVSA Nepal organized a School Awareness Programme to mark the date of 22nd World Spay Day on 23rd February 2016 at Prerana Higher Secondary School, Bharatpur. More than 60 students were acknowledged on importance of Neutering/Spaying with emphasis on controlling stray dog population in regards to discarding diseases of zoonotic imporatnce like Rabies.
