World Veterinary Day 2017 Celebration

This year IVSA Nepal has marked the World Veterinary Day 2017 through organizing vivid events at different places in Nepal. Local Chapters worked on their respective places to celebrate World Veterinary Day that falls on last Saturday of April each year. The day was marked under the theme “Antimicrobial Resistance: From Awareness to Action”, with the events details as follows:

  1. Symposium on “Antimicrobial Resistance: From Awareness to Action” : This event was organized by IVSA Nepal, Paklihawa Chapter in the Campus permises where veterinary students of the IAAS Paklihawa Campus, Nepal and University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences (VFU), Czech Republic , participated to speak upon the AMR issue. More than 30 students were directly benefitted on the Symposium dated 26th April, 2017.
  2. Free Animal Health Camp and AntiMicrobial Resistance Awareness Program : The event was hosted by IVSA Nepal in close coordination with its local chapter IVSA Rampur at Bharatpur -16, Sharanpur, Chitwan, Nepal. The marginalized farmers were benefitted with their animal checkup, treatment and medicine distribution along with awareness on Antimicrobial Resistance. The event was accomplished with the Veterinarian facility from Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU)  and veterinary students from AFU, Nepal and VFU, Czech Republic volunteered to benefit more than 200 livestock (85 goats, 48 buffaloes, 87 cows) of  80 farmers present in the event dated 29th April, 2017.
  3. Participation in the “World Veterinary Day Celebration”: IVSA Nepal participated in the World Veterinary Day Celebration organized by Directorate of Animal Health and other veterinary organizations at Kathmandu, dated 29th April, 2017.  The Rally participants were present with banners and play cards displaying appropriate use of antimicrobials and other informations, with discussions among the related professionals on Antimicrobial Resistance.
