International exchanges have been the calender activity of IVSA Nepal since its establishment, unfortunately Covid-19 crisis brought a pause into this regular event. Eventually, this year(2022) IVSA Nepal had its first post-covid exchange with Veterinary graduates From Odisha, India.
IVSA Nepal hosted three graduate veterinary students ; Dr.Soham Sahoo, Dr.Unique Samantrya & Dr. Shaswat Das from 10th june, 2022 to 19th june, 2022.
Day 1st & 2nd(10th and 11th june):
on the very first day, ivsa_nepal & local chapter ivsa_ hicast Welcomed members from odisha at Balkhu ,went to the hotel at Thamel, worshipped at pashupati temple, Night walk at Thamel street , Visited Basantapur & Ranipokhari. Tried some street foods.
Exchange continued with the visit to local chapter ivsa.hicast (Himalayan College Of Agricultural Science & Technology ) , Short talk with college administration about the veterinary field .
Day 3rd and fourth( 12th and 13th june):
On a journey to explore veterinary medicine in different cultural and social background, fellow members from odisha landed at Chitwan. The major events at chitwan were;
- Intraction with the Members of IVSA Nepal, IVSA Rampur & IVSA NPI.
- Visit to Agriculture and forestry University(AFU) and Nepal Polytechnic Institute (NPI).
- A short met up with the Advisor of IVSA Nepal Dr. Rebanta Kumar Bhattrai and Administrative dean Dr.Dipesh kumar chettri.
-Stay at chitwan got even more exciting with a short trip to Sauraha National Park, Narayani River& Jiruna krishna temple.
Celebration of this beautiful moment of togetherness with the exchange of token of love & sweets along with the members of IVSA Rampur and IVSA NPI deepned the connection between Veterinarians from Odisha and Nepal.Finally, the days at chitwan ended up with a night party at the premises of AFU.
Day 5th and 6th(14th june & 15th june):
After the emotional farewell from Chitwan, graduate Veterinary Students from Odisha headed towards Bhairahawa to meet the members of IVSA Nepl and IVSA Paklihawa.
After being received by Mr. Anil Pokhrel (Exchange Officer, IVSA Paklihawa) and Mr.Alok Dhakal(Public Relation Coordinator) guests stepped into the college at around 4 PM. Then, the committe members of IVSA Paklihawa welcomed them in the presence of Campus chief Professor, Dr. Ram Bhajan Mandal, introduced themselves, exchanged few words and at the end of first session Mr. Prakash Rawal(President, IVSA Paklihawa) presented token of love to the guests from odisha .At the same time IVSA Paklihawa also received a lovely souvenir and some delicious sweets from the graduate veterinary students from odisha.
As part of second session, guests were made to explore college administration area, veterinary laboratories, lecture halls and farm. Evening became the most memorable moment with IVSA Paklihawa when the delicious dinner at Aagan accompained with some beautiful songs, jokes and shairis from the Veterinary doctors of Odisha.As planned, next day (15 June), fellow members from Odisha left for Lumbini early morning and departed to pokhara in the afternoon.
Day 7th and 8th( 16th & 17th june):
After some hours of hectic travel, time came to unravel the hidden beauty that Nepal holds. IVSA Nepal together with the guest from odisha visited these surreal places at pokhara:
-Pumdikot Shiva statue
-Gupteshwor Cave
-Davi's Fall
-Gorkha Museum
-Mahendra Cave
-Bat Cave
-Bindhyabasini Temple
-Taal Barahi
-Phewa Lake
-Mountain Museum
Beside these exquisite beauty, a chance to attend VetCon2022 at pokhara was of absolute delight.
Day 9( 18th june):
The 2nd last day of the exchange where the veterinary group from Odisha returned back to the city i.e Kathmandu wherefrom the journey of exchange began. Activities and Spots visted on this day were:
- Savoured some authentic Newari and Thakali dishes along with the amiable members of IVSA HICAST.
- Visited patan durbar, Swayambhunath and Bouddhanath Temples.
Day 10(19 th june):
On the final day, Three Veterinary doctors from Odisha said goodbye to IVSA Nepal and returned back to Tribhuwan Airport for the flight to Odisha, India
