IVSA Nepal in India - 2023

 

Members from IVSA Nepal reached India on 14th April 2023 to explore India’s incredible cultural diversity, traditions, festivals, biodiversity, and veterinary education system.

On the first day i.e. 14th of April the members departed from the Sunauli border and on the second day i.e. 15th of April reached Bareilly. The day was well spent with the visit to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), one of the premiere research institutions in India which focuses on animal health and welfare. There was a tour of a pig farm, poultry farm, and nutrition lab. The members from IVSA Nepal also made it to a famous Hindu Temple called Pasupati Temple explored Bareilly bazaar, and tried local cuisines. 

On the fourth day, the members reached Pantnagar, where they were welcomed at an international guest house. The major events of the day were:

-Visit to Pantnagar Museum and the  National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP)

- learned about ongoing research

- attended a workshop by Dr. Aman Kamboj, a renowned veterinary expert

- participated in a cultural exchange with members of IVSA Pantnagar

On the fifth day, the members visited the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Pantanagar and toured various labs, including parasitology, gynecology, veterinary hospital, livestock production technology lab, anatomy, and surgery lab. There was also a meet-up with the Dean of the University and different faculty members where the members gained knowledge about the curriculum and exchanged ideas about veterinary education.

On the sixth day i.e. 19th April the members returned back to Nepal after biding goodbyes to the friends from IVSA Pantnagar.
